Tarot Magic

For those interested in magic with tarot cards (and I am), in addition to Stephen Minch's The Book of Thoth I also recommend Tarot Magic by Matteo Filippini & Friends.



While it's obvious English isn't Mr. Filippini's first language, it's worth looking past the typos and odd sentence structures to find a couple of real gems, one of which I immediately added to my repertoire.

Per Jessica Hack on Jon Racherbaumer's Facebook account, Jon died unexpectedly early this morning (10/22/2024).

Elmsley Count tip

For most applications, the Elmsley Count shouldn't be treated as a count, but as a display. Doing so changes the rhythm and makes it more reasonable.

It seems weird to count four cards since it's easy to see - without counting - how many cards you have.
